creativity, action & service (CAS)
Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) is a compulsory element for all IB Diploma students. Each candidate is required to be involved in CAS activities on a continual and regular basis over the two years of the programme.

The CAS programme is one of the ways in which education is taken beyond classroom knowledge, the emphasis being on experiential learning. Students are expected to be involved in a balanced range of different activities which may be interpreted as follows:

CREATIVITY - students are expected to be involved in creative activities such as drama or musical performance, the editing and production of a school magazine, artistic events etc.

ACTION - should be regarded as meaning sports, physical training or expeditions.

SERVICE - involves an opportunity for improving the lives of others and may include working in homes for the aged, disadvantaged, disabled or orphaned, becoming involved in local organisations that provide voluntary services for the community.
