International School of Stuttgart > learning at ISS > the diploma years
Most grade 11 and 12 students follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in which students study six subjects of their choice drawn from major academic disciplines, three at Higher level and three at Standard level. At the core of the curriculum are a course in the Theory of Knowledge, a programme of Community Service and an Extended Research project.
The IB Diploma is a highly-regarded and well-accepted university entrance qualification. Universities throughout the world actively seek and encourage applications from IB Diploma students and ISS has a consistently good record of college placement. Some grade 11 and 12 students study for the ISS High School Diploma which, thanks to our accredited status, can also lead to acceptance at college level. A full programme of careers and college guidance is available to all students, including onsite ACT and SAT testing if required. |
