the early years

The Early Years at ISS provide young students with a stimulating and supportive introduction to school life. Three-year-olds, four-year-olds and five-year-olds are catered for in three separate class groups. Each class benefits from the expertise of a teacher and teaching assistant as the children take their first steps towards acquiring the physical, intellectual and social skills necessary for a successful and happy life at school.

Within the scope of the Primary Years Programme, the curriculum is carefully tailored to meet the needs of this age group, their natural curiosity and eagerness to learn. Learning takes place in a creative atmosphere where teachers and students work together. Play is valued as a constructive and important part of the child's work. Encouraging the first steps towards literacy skills, a wide variety of English language experiences are offered and exploratory work in mathematics and Science foster concept development in reasoning, number and shape.
